Arts & Crafts in the Wye Valley

Some of Gareth’s projects are stand alone designs. Concepts, drawings, specifications. That might be the end of Gareth’s involvement. Other projects Gareth and his team become involved long term both as gardeners and designer as restoration and renovation becomes the driving force.

A family home built in the grounds of an historic designed landscape. The landscape features are from the earlier Victorian mid nineteenth century, now overlooked by the turn of the century Arts & Crafts family house.

New owners, new focus, with the lawn tennis court now a flourishing wildflower meadow with drifts of Doddering Dillies and  Autumn Lady’s-tresses,  old meadow grasses, orchids and wildflowers.

The cloud pruned hedging gives a managed backdrop to the drifts of wildflower.

The original Victorian walled garden is still intact. if needing a little restoration. 2023 will see the kitchen garden up and running again with new productive borders. Some of the old apple trees will be grafted  – maybe trained as espaliers on the old brick walls.
